Curatorial Practice

Bianca Acimovic’s approach to curatorship was developed from an artistic practice. Intentionally commencing her curatorial practice from a practitioner perspective provides her with awareness of the intricacies of creative practices and an understanding of the practitioners behind the practice. A graduate of the University of Southern Queensland with a Bachelor of Visual Arts, she gained hands-on experience by studying at one of the last-remaining studio-based art institutions. Bianca completed a Master of Museum Studies at the University of Queensland under the guidance of Professor Amaresaw Galla. She travelled with the International Council of Museum and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisations), undertaking cultural research, and presenting papers internationally. Bianca has completed a Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the University of Adelaide with a drive for social inclusion and sustainable culture and art practice. Her curatorial practice has found its place in preserving and presenting untold stories with a delicate balance of political and cultural inclusion in contemporary society.
